Journal Entry 1, Beginning Bank Balance
Using the bank statement from the period prior to the Go-Live date, determine the Statement Ending Bank Balance. Debit the bank account with the Statement Ending Bank Balance and credit the Bank Contra Account. If the account is negative, reverse the posting. Example: The ending bank balance is $75,000.00.
