Prepayments (Payables) (Debit Balance)
When a check is posted in a period prior to the payable period, this account gets debited on the check’s period instead of the payables account. On the payable period this account gets credited and the actual payable account gets debited.
The balance of this account should be 0 at the end of time. No journal entries should be made to this account.
